FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you need to know about playing your way to health with Health Bingo.

Is Health Bingo free?

Yes. Health Bingo is free to download and free to join. You can use Health Bingo as a Host or as a Player. Players never pay to join or take part in a challenge. If a Host invites you to play, you can join and participate for free.

Hosts can also get started for free. The only time payment is required is when a Host chooses to create a Premium or Pro challenge. In that case, the Host pays for the challenge, and everyone they invite can still play for free.

How does Health Bingo work?

Health Bingo turns healthy habits into a fun weekly challenge. A Host creates a challenge, chooses a health focus, builds the bingo board and invites Players to join. Players then tick off their bingo cards throughout the week, earn points and badges, cheer each other on in the app, and climb the leaderboard together.

It is designed to make healthy habits feel simple, social and easier to stick to.

Can I play with friends and family?

Yes. Health Bingo is designed to be played with other people. You can invite friends, family, colleagues or groups to join your challenge. Players can encourage each other in the app, celebrate small wins, stay accountable and enjoy a bit of friendly competition along the way.

Everyone invited to play can join for free.

What is on a bingo card?

Each weekly bingo board is filled with small, achievable health habits that Players can tick off as they complete them.

Depending on the challenge, the Host can choose from Health Bingo's suggested bingo cards or create their own. Tasks might focus on movement, food, mindset, sleep, hydration, connection or other healthy habits.

As Players tick off their tasks, they work towards completing Bingo. When they submit a Bingo card, the app celebrates it in the group chat so everyone can cheer them on. That little sense of progress, recognition and friendly competition helps keep the week fun, motivating and achievable.

How do points and badges work?

Players earn points as they complete tasks, submit Bingo and unlock badges throughout the week. Points help track progress and add a little friendly competition on the challenge leaderboard. Badges include:

Bingo Winner – 2 pts: awarded to the first Player to complete Bingo for the week.

Bingo Complete – 1 pt: awarded when a Player completes their Bingo card for the week.

Streak Points – 1 pt: awarded when a Player earns badges across two or more consecutive weeks.

Weight Loss Any – 1 pt: awarded when a Player logs a percentage-based weight loss (Pro Challenges only).

Highest Weight Loss – 2 pts: awarded to the Player with the highest percentage weight loss for the week (Pro Challenges only).

The aim is to make progress feel visible, rewarding and fun, so Players stay motivated without the challenge feeling too serious.

What is a Premium or Pro challenge, and who pays for it?

A Premium or Pro challenge is a paid challenge option that a Host can choose when creating a challenge in the app.

Only the Host pays to create the challenge. Players who are invited can join and take part for free.

The Host pays once for that challenge. There is no subscription, and Players do not pay to access an invited challenge.

Is there a weight-loss challenge?

Yes. Weight-loss features are available in Pro Challenges. Players can privately enter their weekly weigh-in data in the app. Their actual weight is not shared with the Host or other Players. The app uses the weigh-in data to calculate percentage-based progress, such as whether a Player has recorded any weight loss or achieved the highest percentage weight loss for the week.

Those results can contribute to badges like Weight Loss Any and Highest Weight Loss, but the app never discloses a Player's actual weight to the group.

Each Player can also see their own private visual graph of their weight changes over time, so they can track their personal progress.

What challenge levels are available?

Health Bingo has three challenge options:

Free: a simple way to get started with a small group, using Health Bingo's standard challenge features.

Premium: for Hosts who want a longer challenge with more Players, group chat, custom bingo cards and a leaderboard.

Pro: for larger or more goal-focused challenges, with everything in Premium plus optional weight tracking and achievement badges.

Paid challenges are selected by the Host when creating a challenge in the app. Players invited to any challenge can join for free.

Can I choose a theme and name my own challenge?

Yes. Hosts can choose from four main health themes: Weight Loss, Mind & Wellbeing, Fit & Strong, and Nourish & Thrive.

These themes help give the challenge a clear focus while keeping it fun, flexible and achievable.

Hosts can also give their challenge a unique name, so it feels personal and meaningful to the group. For example, a challenge could be named around a family goal, a workplace team, a friendship group, a holiday countdown or a personal health reset.

Can I play on my own, or do I need to invite Players?

Health Bingo is designed to be more fun and motivating when played with others, because encouragement, accountability and friendly competition help healthy habits stick.

However, Hosts can still create a challenge for themselves if they want to use Health Bingo as a personal habit tracker or private health reset.

You can invite Players whenever you are ready, but you do not need a big group to get started.

Can I change my challenge once it starts?

Yes. As the Host, you can update your challenge from the settings icon in the bottom-right of the app. You can rename the challenge, adjust its length, change the start day and bingo board size, choose whether you take part as a Player yourself, and upgrade the plan (for example from Premium to Pro).

The health theme you pick when creating a challenge stays fixed, and the bingo tasks are set when the challenge is created. Editing your settings does not reset anyone’s progress — Players are simply notified that the challenge has been updated.

Can Players join after a challenge has started?

Yes. Players can still join after a challenge has started, so it is not too late to jump in. If points or badges have already been earned before they join, they may miss out on those earlier badge opportunities. But they can start ticking off their bingo cards from the time they join, earn points, and still catch up as the challenge continues.

Health Bingo is designed to keep things fun and encouraging, so late joiners can still get involved, build momentum and be part of the group.

Can I remove a Player from my challenge?

Yes. Hosts can remove a Player from the challenge in the app. Once removed, that Player no longer takes part and is taken off the leaderboard, along with the points they had earned in that challenge.

If you remove someone by mistake, you can simply invite them again — they can re-join and start earning points from that point on.

What happens when a challenge ends?

When a challenge ends, Health Bingo posts a celebratory wrap-up message in the group chat, and everyone can see their final progress, points, badges and leaderboard results.

You can revisit past challenges any time by tapping 'View Completed', where you can look back through each week's bingo board progress, weekly results and the final leaderboard.
